Single Euro Payments Area

- SEPA
The development of national payment transaction markets within the EU to form a single euro payments area (27 EU countries plus EEA and switzerland) represents one of the major milestones towards a European single market. In SEPA, previous barriers resulting from different national payment transaction formats no longer exist. All payments made in euros within this area are comparable to domestic payments. The uniform legal framework (EU-Payments Services Directive) will be binding for all parties concerned (legal and natural persons) within SEPA. Dresdner Bank is actively involved in the creation of SEPA.
